As mentioned in the previous post, we lucked out when it came to moving all our gear down to Puerto Rico and onto Heritage. Certainly no Uhauls available to the Islands so when my company needed someone to deliver the Seaplane down south for the winter I quickly volunteered. Packed to the brim I departed Connecticut and made it down to Ft Lauderdale in time to meet Alyssa and her parents for dinner. We stayed the night and then Alyssa and I departed early the next morning to complete our move down to Puerto Rico and to our new life.
Month: October 2016
Well that’s it!
Well that’s it for the mainland life!
I’ve sold my furniture, donated many an item to goodwill, sold my beloved truck and powerboat, and packed up the rest of our gear. Took one last picture of the wall map where I imagined this day over and over again and headed out the door to our new life!
It’s Begun!!
Whew, where to start. The past two months have been a whirlwind. It’s fun to talk about the possibilities of taking all your money and buying a sailboat to go around the world in, imagining beautiful beaches and exotic lands. But when that bank account hits zero and your repair list stretches out the door, the reality of this monumental task hits home. The past two months have been one big, big reality check.
