Well that’s it for the mainland life!
I’ve sold my furniture, donated many an item to goodwill, sold my beloved truck and powerboat, and packed up the rest of our gear. Took one last picture of the wall map where I imagined this day over and over again and headed out the door to our new life!
Lucky for me, my job as a seaplane pilot has provided many a perks over the years and it delivered one last great one. The plane needed repositioning so I’m delivering it down to St Croix packed to the brim with all our possessions. I’m on my way to Florida right now to pick up my beautiful fiancé and sweep her away to the islands where our sailboat and dreams await.
Traveling down the east coast of the US on this misty morning I’ve been treated to a beautiful sunrise and gentle skies. Listening to some music on the long flight I hear Lyle Lovett sing to me as the mist clears “if I had a boat, I’d go out on the ocean”
I couldn’t agree more and couldn’t be more excited for the adventures ahead!
